Brian Clay Johnson joins HMD

Brian was born in Jackson and raised in Darden, Henderson County, Tennessee. He graduated from Riverside High School in Decatur County in 1992. Brian worked at Save-A-Lot in Parsons during high school and later at Piggly Wiggly (now Food Giant), also in Parsons.

 

Brian attended Union University in Jackson where he graduated with honors in 2000 with a

Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science.

 

While at Union, Brian received the Political Science Minor award and served as an Intern and Assistant Research Analyst for the Senate Judiciary Committee of the Tennessee General Assembly.

Brian attended law school at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate in Spring 2003. While in law school, he received the Dean’s Award for Best Interoffice Memorandum, placed second in the Advanced Moot Court Competition, and was a member of the National Mock Trial Team.

Brian was admitted to the bar in Fall 2003, and is licensed to practice in all Tennessee Courts, the Federal District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Tennessee, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has served as an Assistant District Attorney, Assistant Attorney General, and Special Assistant United States Attorney. Brian has been in private practice for the past five years and has represented individuals in a variety of cases.

Brian is married to Hayley (Fults) Johnson. They have one child, Zachary Lee Johnson.
